This product turns just about any acrylic paint (water-based) into a wash/stain, the higher the pigment the better such as the inexpensive paints know as Apple Barrel sold in Wal-Mart stores because as you add this product to the paint it thins it and lowers the surface tension of the paint. Just place a drop of paint onto a smooth surface like a plate or bottle cap and then add the capillarity agent to the paint until you have it as thin as you want it and apply to what ever item you are wishing to wash/stain.
